Welcome to the weekend with Katie Wardle Co-Founder of Therapi Hair

The weekend is back again, and that means another ‘Time Out’. This week’s questions are answered by Katie Wardle, director and co-founder of THERAPI, who could have been an interior designer in another life…

What is the first thing you do to get the weekend started?

Friday is the start of the weekend and family time, so after I post a few snaps on my @mrs.therapi Instagram account, I put my phone aside and catch up with the children and my husband Jim – we try not to talk about the business we co-founded together but its hard! Our weekends are often busy with football training for the boys and children’s parties or trips out so I try to make Friday nights cosy ones by the fire.

What is your hobby?

I enjoy keeping fit and trying to look after my wellbeing. Running a business and having four children means our life is very full on. Spending time doing exercise really helps me focus my mind and makes me feel like I can tackle anything. I try and do one fitness class and one Pilates class a week if time allows.

What is your favourite movie?

I have recently been to see ‘A Star Is Born’ with Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper. A classic love story with a fantastic sound track and a traumatic ending – it had me sobbing in my very comfortable Everyman sofa!

If you hadn’t been successful at what you do, what would you be doing instead as a career?

I love my job dealing with people and luxury products, but I also have a real passion for interiors and fabrics. One of my favourite places to visit is Liberty in London – the fabrics and iconic prints are so inspirational. I would love to try my hand at interior design and go wild with someone else’s budget – especially there!

If you could have any superpower what would it be?

To be in more than one place at once – something my twin girls are capable of! There are often occasions when I could really do with splitting myself in two so that I can attend meetings or launch events in London but also pick the children up from school at the same time. For now I will have to settle for racing from one place to another.

What is your favourite genre of music?

I usually let the occasion or my mood dictate my song choice and having grown up listening to cassettes on my Walkman, I love the fact I can pick a song from any era or genre at the touch of a button on Spotify. My older children love listening to chart music and generally select the radio station in the car, but at least they keep me up to date with all the latest artists, so I can pretend to have my finger on the pulse of things!
